EVCA Newsletter | December Edition - the latest VC news, jobs, and events
In venture capital, it can feel like we are always on the go—from hustling for the next deal, cramming diligence sessions into the late-night, and squeezing in the last meeting into the jam-packed schedule. But we’re approaching the holidays, and the world is slowing down, and we must also hit the pause on the hustle, trading the pitch decks for holiday playlists and the back-to-back meetings for back-to-back toasts. Let us relish the wintry reprieve so we can hit the ground running in 2025. From all of us on the EVCA Leadership team, we wish you a joyous holiday season and a festive New Year!
And with that bit of introductory fanfare, welcome back to this month’s EVCA newsletter!
Meet Dan Moskowitz, Partner at Third Point Ventures
We had the chance to interview Dan Moskowitz, who is a Partner at Third Point Ventures, the venture capital arm of the New York-based hedge fund, Third Point. Dan shares his story—from starting his career as an engineer at Lockheed Martin’s rotation program, exploring corporate development at Cisco, and finally, investing in early-stage enterprise startups as a venture capitalist. He also shares his learnings on life and career.
Featured Investor
This month we highlight Kate Meacham, Analyst at Bullpen Capital, as our featured investor of the EVCA community.
Kate Meacham is an analyst at Bullpen Capital, a post-seed venture firm focused on high-performing but overlooked companies that exist outside the current fads of Silicon Valley. Prior to joining Bullpen, Kate spent several years on GTM teams developing demand generation strategies in B2B SaaS. Kate is a proud alumna of Mount Holyoke College where she studied entrepreneurship and world religions. In her free time, she enjoys trying new recipes and going to the beach.
